Frequently Asked Questions
How long does an iPhone screen replacement take?
Most iPhone screen replacements are completed in under an hour while you wait, depending on the model. Older models (iPhone 8, X series) are usually quickest. Pop into the shop in Thurcroft or call ahead so we can have the part ready.
Will the screen be the same quality as the original?
Yes — and we don't fit cheap LCD copies under any circumstances. For Samsung phones we use genuine Samsung screens exclusively. For iPhones we fit Soft OLED screens as standard, the highest-quality aftermarket option available, which match original Apple displays in brightness, colour accuracy and touch response. If you'd prefer a genuine Apple iPhone screen, we can source those on request — let us know and we'll quote accordingly.
Will I see an "Important Display Message" after a third-party screen replacement?
On iPhones from the iPhone 11 onwards, Apple's diagnostic system detects third-party screens and shows an "Important Display Message" in Settings → General → About → Parts and Service. This is a transparency notification from Apple — it does not affect how your screen works day to day. Face ID continues to function normally. True Tone may be disabled depending on the model and iOS version. If you'd prefer to avoid the notification entirely, choose a genuine Apple screen replacement — let us know and we'll quote accordingly.

Does replacing the screen void my manufacturer warranty?
If your device is still under Apple, Samsung or another manufacturer warranty, any third-party repair (including ours) typically voids it. We offer our own 12-month warranty on the replacement screen and the work itself, which covers you instead.
What if there's more wrong with my device than just the screen?
We'll spot it during the diagnostic and let you know before doing the work. Many devices come in with multiple issues — battery, charging port, speaker — and we can address those at the same time, often with a discount on combined repairs.
Can I send my device by post for repair?
Yes. If you can't make it to our shop, contact us and we'll arrange postal repair. We'll send you packaging instructions and a quote, and return your device once repair is complete.
